Getting rid of "Starts on effective date" in Quotes

Hello,

I'm trying to create my first quote, but the wording "Starts on effective date" appears under every product in every line item. That wording doesn't make sense since it's a one-time product they are purchasing and we are shipping to them. I have played with all the settings and properties related to quotes and products and I cannot seem to find a solution.

You should be able to embed images within quotes. Please let me know if that's not what you are after.

Is it possble to add image in Quota based on selected products.

Hi y'all,

One of my clients is looking to use custom-designed quotes in HubSpot so they can maintain their existing look and feel. Their previous quotes were almost brochure-like and included accessories as well as up- and cross-sell suggestions.

While my coding knowledge is limited, I also believe this level of customization may not be possible out of the box. That said, the client would like to know whether the following is possible:

When a product is selected on a quote, can an image of that product be automatically added to the quote so the recipient can see the product visually?

Any insights would be greatly appreciated.

Why isn't the line item font changeable?

There is misleading verbiage directly under Heading 4 (H4) that says "formatting of the line item names." However, it doesn't actually change anything about the line item names and after talking to HS Support, they said the line item name font cannot be changed. If every other font area is available to be changed on a quote, please make it make sense that line item names are the only thing that cannot be changed and therefore they stick out oddly when they are a heavy bold (for some reason) and all the other text on the page can be a different font.

Has anybody figured out how to change their line items to match the rest of their chosen font on a quote?

Thanks for sharing the full context again — this is a really well thought-out architecture, and you’re bumping into a very real limitation of HubSpot Subscriptions today.

I’d like to invite a few Community members who are subject matter experts in Commerce Hub, Subscriptions, and ERP-led billing setups to join the conversation.
@GaroAroian @HubDoPete @TTolley — hope you’re all having a great week! Have you seen any supported ways (or pragmatic workarounds) to handle mid-term subscription upsells with interim invoicing when HubSpot is not handling payments? In particular, any patterns involving dummy payment gateways, subscription splits, or “shadow” subscriptions that still play nicely with external systems like Sage Intacct?

Any real-world guidance on what does and doesn’t work here would be hugely appreciated.

Subscriptions - upselling

We are a software company and are looking to start to use Hubspot Subscriptions. We currently do subscription management manually and think that we can improve our process flows by moving to subscriptions.

We use Hubspot as our CRM/Sales tool, and Sage Intacct as our finance tool. All invoices/payments are generated/managed in Sage Intacct. This won't change. We will never move to credit card/online payments due to the type of customers we serve.

Looking at Hubspot, I had the view that our sales process could generate the subscription, which will create the invoice record in Hubspot. We will then use our data mover to transfer the invoice record to Sage for processing. We will move the invoice status (paid!) back to Hubspot to close the loop.

For the most part, this seems to work. However I have found that we cannot amend (upsell) a subscription mid term, and have the interim invoice automatically generated. We can amend before a billing period boundary and the next invoice is uplifted, but we need the interim invoice to cover the difference. Apparently we cannot amend subscriptions if we don't use online payments.

Is there any workaround or dummy payment process we can implement to allow Subscription upselling?

We faced something similar on our website . HubSpot works well for CRM, but for selling products WooCommerce on WordPress was much smoother. We use HubSpot for tracking and marketing, and WooCommerce for checkout it’s a solid combo.

Hi Oren ( @OAskarov ). Here's what I understand from looking back on this and doing a little research. You can't use HubSpot’s native Subscriptions API for this client’s flow without connecting HubSpot Payments or Stripe as a payment processor, so the likely path forward is to model subscriptions with deals or a custom object and keep the local gateway as the system of record.

Because this account isn’t using HubSpot Payments or Stripe as a payment processor, the Subscriptions API you linked isn’t a viable foundation for your migration. It’s designed specifically for subscriptions that Commerce Hub is billing through HubSpot Payments or Stripe, and those objects behave differently than standard CRM objects.

In your case, I think the best approach is to keep your existing payment platform as the billing system of record and mirror subscriptions into HubSpot using either deals or a custom “Subscription” object. Each time your payment provider sends a webhook (new subscription, renewal, cancellation, failed payment), you’d call the regular CRM APIs to create or update the corresponding record in HubSpot and update the associated contact/company.

That pattern works well with WordPress + WooCommerce, and it avoids tying your implementation to Commerce Hub’s internal subscription object, which currently assumes HubSpot Payments or Stripe.

Hello @danmoyle I read your feedback about Subscription API. I have a quesion about this as well. I hope you'll be able to help me.

I'm writing a configuration document to a client, who's using a different CRM and want to migrate to HS. The have a subscription process + payment already working using a local payment provide platform.

The subscription is purchsed on a website (WordPress + WooCommerce).

I think of creating an updating subscription to a record based on an API call from the local payment provide, and update the contact record on that API call.
When I looked at the API documentaion I noticed this prerequisites: To use these APIs, the account must be set up to collect payments through either HubSpot payments or Stripe payment processing.

Unfortunatly, this is not an option.

Is there a workaround to solve this? Can I use the deal or custom object workaround you suggested to this user flow as well? For creating and updating new subscription.

I’m trying to set up tax rates for my products/services and have noticed that HubSpot doesn’t currently allow setting a 0% VAT rate.

Could you please clarify:

Why 0% VAT is not available as a tax option in HubSpot?
Is this a known limitation, and if so, are there plans to support 0% VAT in the future?
Are there any workarounds or best practices recommended for businesses that need to issue invoices or quotes with 0% VAT (e.g., for exports or VAT-exempt customers)?
