Yes, 1 property on Contacts + 7 on Companies = 8...I even checked that the properties which I "deleted" were truly deleted (my screenshot shows "Archived=0") because at first the "deleted" properties were still counted as "Archived".

Primary problem: I'm trying to create custom properties. I had created 10, deleted 2 (archive first then delete). Filtering shows that I have 8 custom properties, but banner message says that I have 10, even after signout/signin to hopefully prevent use of cached data. Please advise on how to get this fixed.

Secondary problem: HubSpot has made it exceedingly difficult for free plan user to report (suspected) bugs. Not good.

Hi @scspijker,

As far as I know, you can't reference the output of an action from another workflow - even if you sent a record there from your current workflow.

In other words, if you send a record from workflow1 to workflow2 and workflow2 is the one with the custom code action, you can't access the output of the action in workflow2 within workflow1.

You would have to include the custom code action in workflow1 so that you can reference it's output. (Unless you're planning on regularly changing the code - which doesn't seem to be the case - I don't think there's any issue with that.)

I need to know the current date time in my current custom workflow. HubSpot does not offer any step for this, so I decided to create a custom code workflow whose sole purpose is to supply an ISO8601 current date time.

I've setup a custom workflow with some code that does this:

exports.main = async (event, callback) => { callback({ outputFields: { currentDateTime: new Date().toISOString() } }); }

I've defined the output in the re-usable workflow, and this all works and returns a datetime (a String containing the ISO8601 formatted datetime).

Now, when I want to use this from my main workflow, I can call it, but the "currentDateTime" output is not shown! Only the success state?

How do I get my output to show up? I've looked through all the settings, but can't find anything else.

Hey @Alexander-tmp - an interesting question for sure. I haven't personally solved this as I don't manage the CRM data like that anymore. However, one thing I was thinking of is something I heard about once. Let's see if I can explain it. You could layer in “original name” and audit trail in a custom property.

Here's what that looks like:

Create Original company name and copy inbound values there once, before any formatting workflows touch them.
Only ever manipulate a working “Formatted company name,” then overwrite Company name once you’re happy.
Add a small metadata field like “Last formatting workflow run date” so you can isolate records impacted by a bad rule and fix them in bulk later.

This pattern is especially helpful when integrating multiple sources. It's a bit manual and requires regular auditing, but could help when your workflow fires when it shouldn't.

Another solution I found while poking around was also pretty manual, but may help with it. If you were to maintain an exceptions or accepted acronyms list, you could add a branch to your workflow. Here's how that could play out.

Acronym flag property:

Boolean: “Company name includes protected acronym”.
Use workflow branches: if flag is true, skip title case; if false, format.

Acronyms text property:

Store values like AMT; IBM; NASA.
Use a workflow that only formats names when Company name does not contain any of those strings (contains none of “ AMT ”, “ IBM ”, etc.); maintain this list over time.

Manual corrections queue:

Use a view filtered on “Recently updated by formatting workflow = true” AND “Name contains known acronym fragments,” and have a light-touch review step, rather than proofreading every company.

It's a bit of work and not totally automatic, but does give you guardrails without deep engineering. Otherwise you might look into how Data Hub (fka Operations Hub) could help you with custom formulas/custom code.

Curious to see if anyone else has ideas to solve as well!

You would use a different target property than "Ticket description", but you can set the value of a custom property to the outcome of the previous summary action.

Hi,

We are trying to use Breeze to generate ticket summaries. From reading : https://knowledge.hubspot.com/workflows/use-breeze-to-research-and-summarize-data-in-workflows it appears the summary is generated as a card, but we want to have it in a property.

The reason behind it is to be able to use it later for our own AI tool. Is there a way to save it in a propery? Or, could be somehow access whatever is stored on a card?

@LPhillips0 what do you mean when you say it's imported as a table and you can't edit it? If you're stuck, you can always copy all if the data into another worksheet without formatting.

So I have followed your instructions to get the data from Hubspot, into excel in a readable format but excel imports it as a table which means that I can't filter the data in excel. Is there something else that I need to do to get it in a format that can be edited?

Handle title casing company names without breaking acronyms?

I’m looking for advice on a CRM automation challenge I’ve run into around company name formatting.

We create company records from multiple sources — integrations, imports, and manual entry — so keeping organisation names consistent is important for reporting and data quality. To help with this, I’ve been using workflow actions like “change to title case.”

In most cases, this works perfectly…

The issue shows up when a company name intentionally includes capitalised acronyms or segments, for example:

AMT Global Solutions

A standard title-casing rule improves consistency, but it also converts names like this into something inaccurate, which isn’t ideal.

I’m curious how others are handling this in HubSpot:

Are you using any workarounds or conditional logic in workflows?
Do you rely on exceptions lists, custom properties, or manual review steps?
Has anyone found a way to preserve intended capitalisation while still enforcing consistency?

Hi @LPhillips0,

This is not an issue of corrupted data / gibberish, it comes down to encoding. If I'm not mistaken, HubSpot is exporting in UTF-8 encoding (which correctly handles special characters like "ü"), but Excel is apparently opening it with different encoding.

When you open a CSV file, do it through the Data item in the Excel ribbon (Get data - From File - From Text/CSV). In the import window, you should be able to change the encoding to 65001: Unicode (UTF-8).

The data in Hubspot displays correctly as it's usually copied and pasted in. However when we download the data out of Hubspot the text is then corupted and appears as gibberish.
